Our skills and expertise have a broad reach, from sales and marketing to commercial strategy and optimising guest experience.
Kate and Katie have worked at some of the travel industry’s market-leaders over the past 20 years, including Audley Travel, Scott Dunn and Asilia Africa. We use this unique perspective of the needs of hotels, safari camps, DMCs and tour operators and how they interact to offer advice, strategy and implementation.
We don't believe in a one-size fits all approach, instead collaborating with you to understand your challenges and goals to see how we can help.
Travel is our profession but most importantly it’s our passion. It has the power to transform perspectives, as well as regenerate remote locations far from over-touristed sites. We are committed to help showcase these wild, unspoilt corners of the world through the work we do with our partners.
Kapara derives its meaning from fabric, weaving together, finding unity and connection.
Our aim is that beyond working with us, our clients can share insights with each other, too. Founders can connect to share the highs and lows of their journey, individuals can share what’s worked (and not) in their region of the world, and find new solutions through collaboration and connection.

Kate has been in luxury travel for almost two decades, and alongside her huge passion for photography, loves nothing more than otherness and the feeling of awe that travel provides. Destinations that connect, push boundaries and inspire are her thing, which is why India, Japan, Sri Lanka and Bhutan are among her favourite places to visit. Kate has lived in India and in Laos, and prefers to return to destinations rather than to travel at a surface level. Getting to far flung areas and places that feel untouched are what drives Kate - northern Laos and Nagaland are just a few examples. Its these places that also inspire her photography.
She’s been to India over 10 times and not far off that to Sri Lanka. Kate began her career with Audley, specialising in India, Sri Lanka and more latterly Kenya for 5 years. Over the next 10 years Kate worked with Exo Travel in Asia, set up India and Sri Lanka for Holiday Architects and was Head of Product at Scott Dunn for almost 6 years. Kate loves a project, transforming brands, helping merge companies, setting up new websites, rethinking rates, helping represent small hotels, and setting up entirely new destinations for tour operators.
She’s well connected and helps represent some of the world’s best DMCs here in the UK.
Kate likes to advise, connect people, and chat about anything and everything with likeminded souls.

Africa Safari, Commercial Strategy, Conservation and Impact, Writing, Coaching, Guest Experience
Growing up on the tiny British island of Guernsey inspired Katie to seek adventure early in life. Much of her 20 year travel career has been spent exploring wilderness areas, across Africa and beyond. Venturing far but treading lightly is her style, seeking vast landscapes to get lost in and finding peace in nature, whether trekking in Nepal or sleeping under the stars in Kenya.
Katie’s career includes a leadership role at a safari camp operator and DMC, and previously in sales and product management at tour operators Audley and Scott Dunn, overseeing Africa and later global product from South America to New Zealand. This variety of perspectives is her super power, along with her love for writing and sharing her skills through coaching.
She spent the past 8 years at Asilia Africa, an impact-focussed safari operator with 17 camps and DMC business. Here as commercial manager and later director, she played a key role in pricing, occupancy, developing new camps and service offerings from concept to creation, and managing the B2B relationship team. In the leadership team, she defined business strategy and led teams through the pandemic and into the growth beyond.
Katie is a real people person; she loves to collaborate, problem solve and see a project through from start to finish. She is currently based in Cape Town.
