EMBOO

A new kind of safari camp for a new generation; Emboo prides itself on doing things differently. This camp in the heart of Kenya’s Maasai Mara is net zero, the first camp in the region to do so. Founders Valery and Loïc and their team designed the camp to ensure every element was nature-centric, answering how to solve every problem from power to waste, before even sketching a tent. And what they have created is impressive: 50% of the camp team are female, from guides to askaris, solar power fuels the whole camp and their full-fleet of electric vehicles (a first in Kenya), vertical hydroponic gardens, food waste which transforms into power through their biogas unit, and UV filtration for every drop of waste water. It’s no surprise they are B-Corp certified.

This eco-focus doesn’t come at the expense of guest experience - far from it! The team at Emboo are committed to bringing fun, joy, curiosity and celebrating the vibrancy of the Maasai Mara and Kenya’s culture. In a world of many shades of khaki and beige, Emboo is a bright gem attracting a younger, and young-at-heart crowd and proving that safari can be anything but stuffy. We are huge fans of everything this team stand for and are achieving, truly changing the game in the safari space, and we’re proud to be a part of their journey.
